Test, projects and wish list

I would like to remind students in my 1,2,5,and 6 classes:
The Chapter 2 test is A day- 12/5 and B day 12/6. There will be matching, multiply choice, two essay questions and skills for life: Main Idea on the test. The students have created their own Study Guides by doing outlines and questions. They also have corrected quizzes from each section.

4th period's test will be before Christmas Break. I will give more details as the time comes closer. The 4th period also has a project due Monday,December 3. It is a poster board, scroll or other creative idea on using Hammurabi's Code( http:eawc.evansville.edu/anthology/hammurabi.htm ) to create a student code of conduct at Landon( www.duvalschools.org) or code student has already signed for at school.

I have a request of items for the classroom. Stuffy and runny noses have depleted our classroom supply of Kleenex and paper towels. We would also love to have more wipes to clean desk. These items help us in not spreading germs! : ) Thank you.

Welcome! I am excited are you?

I was traveling this summer so I missed you at orientation. I was in the UK and Serbia. It was wonderful. I hope you all had a great summer also.
I am very excited about returning to World History after hanging out in Science for the last few years. I came to JCLP from Darnell about 5 years ago. The first year, I was in sixth grade teaching World History. The next three were in sixth grade Science. I had a great time, but my love is World History.
We will be covering Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece and Rome. Yes, there will be homework. Yes, homework counts. I sure hope you are good at restating questions and writing complete sentences. We will be doing this a lot. I tease my students saying my job is to make your life miserable, just like your parents. I am a partner to your parents in  helping you learn how to learn and be the best you can be.
I am expecting you to be prepared on the first day with all of your school supplies.  I will be ready with all of my supplies! I will expect this every class. Then, we can learn and travel to all the magical places and civilizations in History. It should be exciting ,but just like training for the Olympics, we have to work to get there. The things we will do and the places we will go!!
I can wait to meet all of you and travel History.
